Meetings
Educational meetings and presentations will be held at HKU to share information and discuss collaborative projects between education institutions, composers, sound designers and artists and students.
Research
Keynotes and papers will be presented dealing with new and innovative topics related to pedagogy in media music and sound art programmes, research on industry practice and technique as well as performances/screenings as part of the research event components. The keynote speakers for IMMSANE Utrecht 2022 will be Yashas Shetty and Dr. Dennis Braunsdorf.
Events
Netherlands Film Festival collaborates with IMMSANE Utrecht 2022.
NFF Professionals is part of the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF), intended for the Dutch film industry. Every year, NFF brings professionals from various disciplines together during the NFF Professionals Programme. The programme consists of inspirational Prof Talks, a conference day full of (inter)national speakers and stirring conversations, extensive talent development opportunities and the international HFM Lab and Market. This year the Professionals Programme will take place between September 23 and 27.
Call for papers and presentations
IMMSANE Utrecht 2022 is opening a call for papers and presentations with the topic of INNOVATION. We are seeking discussions, academic papers and presentations that present current best practice and methods representing newness in the fields of media music pedagogy and professionalism and the sound arts. Especially emphasised is the effect Internationalisation can create positive links and resources in our challenging current times.
Please contact information@immsane.com with a brief abstract and proposal for IMMSANE Utrecht 2022. Papers can be delivered online, but preferably in-person at the event in September 2022. The deadline for submission was 30th June 2022.

Soundtrack_Cologne /Soundtrack _Zurich
SoundtrackCologne is one of the most important media music and sound design industry events in Europe and is the patron and host of AcadeMeet. The next Soundtrack_Cologne 20 takes place 20th - 23rd June 2023. Soundtrack_Zurich is a new festival taking place each year during the Zurich Film Festival.
Zurich Film Festival
Zurich Film Festival is a relatively young film festival which has developed to achieve a great impact in recent years. ZFF hosted the IMMSANE Zurich 2020 as part of their festival programme between 1st - 3rd October 2020.
Festival International Music & Cinema Marseille
The Festival International Music & Cinema Marseille (formerly the Festival International du Film d'Aubagne) is dedicated to the relation between music and image. Presenting both, short and feature film competitions, an original music score or a special work on sound creation is always the lead.
The Festival International Music & Cinema Marseille is also an important support for young international film creation and film music composers. Presenting masterclasses of composition, seminars, round tables, ciné-concerts, the Festival has also developed many professional meetings initiatives such as the European Market for Film Music Composition. The next edition of Festival International Music & Cinema Marseille will take place 27th March - 1st April 2023.
Zurich University of the Arts
The Zurich University of the Arts is one of the major Universities of the arts in Europe with a strong media music and sound department. Study and research programmes at ZhDK cover areas of design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theatre, transdisciplinary studies and the teaching of arts and design. The Zurich University of the Arts, Composition for Film, Theatre and Media supported IMMSANE by providing academic hosting for IMMSANE Zurich 2020 events.
International Film Music Competition
The International Film Music Competition takes place since 2012, collaborating with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and forumfilmmusik to provide one of the most important film music competitions in which the finalists are performed by live orchestra to screen at a special event in Zurich during the ZFF.
Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition
This competition has become one of the world’s leading International film music competitions through it’s unique profile which mentors each yearly compeition winners through representation and career development.
MIMM Music Institute Multimedia Music
MiMM (Music Institute Multimedia Music) is the Dutch institution for media music and its creators and performers. MiMM produces yearly a variety of projects such as cinema concerts, multimedia nights, research projects and the English language online platform Private Kitchen (www.privatekitchen.nl).
